Kijoma finalises conversion of Plaistow Sussex from WiFi Mesh
(171 reads)
wireless
Back in July, Kijoma officially took over the WiFi Mesh system present in the Village of Plaistow, West sussex. This system gave "up to" 1 Mbps to each customer, used 2.4 GHz WiFi? in an insecure mode and relied on 15 node aerials just to cover 3/4 of the village.

We are pleased to say we have installed over 50 customers in the village with our service while also adding people who were unable to gain service from the old system during its eventful 4 year lifetime. The old Mesh system will imminently be closed down when the last few customers are migrated in the coming week.

Kijoma has Moved!

Kijoma Broadband has moved! and will be back to installing as soon as we have all our office systems fully up and running. Our new location is at the heart of our Arun Valley network and places us much closer to the majority of our customers. This contributed to the quick repair of our server this morning (27/08).

Kijoma is on the move
(191 reads)
Kijoma Broadband is moving offices from Bognor Regis to Near Pulborough, West Sussex. This move places us much closer to our core network and customer base which in turn will reduce travel time and increase the rate at which we can install the ever increasing demand for our service.

This means for the 2-3weeks from the 20th of august we will only be providing any potentially needed support to existing customers, New installs will be delayed.

BBC broadband speed test survey

wireless
The BBC held a speed test survey, see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/7426337.stm

a customer on our network got:-

Your connection to bbc.co.uk is working at 13.1 mbps.

At this speed it would take you less than a minute to download a 4 minute song and under ten minutes to download a half hour TV programme.

As with all these speed tests the first day of use overloaded the bbc speed test server and results were poor for everybody but once it calmed down the results were more accurate.
